The Post Surgery Dog
Some conditions in dogs are required to have surgical intervention to correct and solve the underlying cause of their condition.
Canine Rebalance supports post surgery dogs by:
- Addressing and relieving secondary compensations, like myofascial pain
- Increasing blood and nutrient circulation to affected areas
- Improving mobility
- Providing advice on home adjustments that will support your dog
- Relieving focal point muscular tension
- Supporting your dog’s mental wellbeing
- Increasing balance and proprioception to the affected area
- Addressing muscular atrophy
When recovering from surgery your dog may compensate by placing additional strain on other areas of the body. This may cause secondary issues in the musculoskeletal system resulting in pain, discomfort and dysfunction. In addition, when left, the area that was operated on is unlikely to be used fully until natural recovery is well underway, as a result atrophy may occur in the musculature where the surgery took place.
Here are some examples of surgeries:
- Cruciate Ligament Surgery
- Patella Luxation Surgery
- Hip Dysplasia Surgery
- Elbow Dysplasia Surgery
- Osteo Chondritis Dissecans Surgery
- Amputation
Canine Rebalance aims to increase the rehabilitation process and support your dog alongside your vet and veterinary surgeon.
